week course B3 third 1/3 of form 10
week course Roots
& Branches©: Generating Chi These sessions lead you through a form of qi gong which condenses T'ai Chi into standing positions, walks and shifting movements. By integrating principle, breath and focus in the Tantien with awareness of the Five Elements, Roots & Branches unblocks, generates and circulates chi (vital energy), allowing it to nourish you at the very deepest level. The work deepens on repetition and is valuable for students of all experience, including complete beginners. You are welcome to sign up for the full course of ten sessions (£110) or come on a drop-in basis (£12 per lesson). Wednesdays 24 September 6.30 to 7.30 pm Marylebone Dance Studio 12 Lisson Grove NW1 (Tube: Marylebone & Baker St)
After B3, you're ready to review the entire form with special attention to refining and embodying principles. Includes some work with partners to increase awareness and make it fun. Each lesson will last 1¼ hours and is priced accordingly. Wednesdays 24 September 7.30 to 8.45 pm Marylebone Dance Studio 12 Lisson Grove NW1 (Tube: Marylebone & Baker St) In this course we introduce the work with a partner. Despite the connotation, "push hands" is taught in a non-confrontational way, focusing on our own stability, balance and ability to interact with each other in harmony. (20 hours). Always worth repeating! Tuesdays 30 September for 10 weeks, 7.45 to 8.45 pm St Anne's Community Hall 55 Dean Street, W1 (Tube: Leicester Sq & Piccadilly Circus) Course Fees
One course, on its own, costs £110 (except the longer Fundamentals class, which is £130). A concessionary rate of £80 is available to those who present proof of their OAP, student or unwaged status. Those taking Roots & Branches in addition to another T'ai Chi course in the same term automatically receive a discount, paying the concessionary rate. The cost of repeating a course, when it is additional to another in the same term, is £25.
